Adam Markowitz is an award-winning architect and furniture & lighting designer/maker based in Melbourne, Australia. He has attended schools of design & craft in Australia, Denmark and the US. Exposed in those schools to fine craft and traditional joinery alongside contemporary design, he has developed a design philosophy that values the intimate connection between design and fabrication, and the new opportunities found at the intersection of modern digital processes and traditional methods of craftsmanship. Since 2015 his interdisciplinary practice has offered Architectural Services, Design Consultancy, small batch production and bespoke one-off commission work. His work can be found in collections both in Australia and internationally. Markowitz has taught the experimental furniture design program as part of the Master of Architecture at The University of Melbourne, as well as at the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship in Maine, USA.
